ARTWORK RELATED

Q: What kind of artwork do I need?

A: .ai (Illustrator), .cdr (Corel Draw), .pdf, .eps, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, or via fax. The cleaner the artwork you can provide the faster your order will be processed and the closer it will be to your desired result.

Q: What if I need custom artwork created?

A: We can create or layout art as per your request, however there will be a $25 per hour art charge for this. See pricing page for more info.

Q: What is a font substitution?

A: Font substitutions occur when vector based artwork, which involves text is opened and the computer opening the design does not have the font style the text was created in.

Q: How do I avoid font substitutions?

A: When you are sending vector format artwork, make sure you select all text and either "create outlines" in illustrator or "convert to curves" in Corel draw. If you leave the text as is we may not have the required font.

Q: What is minimum text size?

A: We have a minimum text size of 5mm high and the columns in the text need to be at least 1mm, in order for the text to sew out clean. Please adjust artwork accordingly or be aware that text may need to be increased by us.

Q: Why might my artwork need to be changed for embroidery?

A: Most logos and art created is for print or for the web, because of this it is sometimes difficult to embroider exactly as the art. Unlike ink, thread is close to 1mm thick, therefore small details in the design are often enlarged or simplified for embroidery. If certain details are followed exactly as the art provided it may cause major problems in the production stage, such as needle breaks, constant thread breaks, and an ugly messy design in the end. We will contact our customers if any major modifications need to be made before we go ahead with the order.
